At Chery’s new brand iCAR night held on the eve of the Shanghai Auto Show, iCAR took the lead in releasing two new cars, namely the iCAR 03, a pure electric hardcore SUV, and the iCAR GT concept car, a pure electric sports car. In addition, the iCAR new car plan was also announced on site, involving 6 models in 4 major categories.
It is worth mentioning that ENER-Q, a joint battery brand jointly created by Chery and CATL, has been officially released. At the same time, CATL sodium-ion batteries will also be the first to be installed on Chery's new energy brand models.
iCAR 03
iCAR 03 has a tough body shape, and the exterior design is mostly outlined with straight lines, which is very consistent with the traditional off-road vehicle style that everyone has in mind, and is also highly consistent with the previously released preview images of the new car. iCAR 03’s body is a steel-aluminum hybrid body structure, and will be equipped with multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels, roof racks, large-size sunroof and square external "small schoolbag&rd"quo;At the same time, the new car will also support NFC one-click unlocking and other functions.
In terms of body size, iCAR 03’s length, width and height will not exceed 4200/1830/1700mm, but the new car’s wheelbase reaches 2700mm, short front and rear overhangs and a traditional four-door design. It can improve vehicle passability and ensure the space inside the vehicle. At present, the official power information of the new car has not been announced. It is expected to launch a variety of endurance versions. The configuration is expected to be equipped with iCAR’s smart cabin smart driving technology and L2+ level driving assistance system.
According to previous information, iCAR 03 will also apply the virtual i-VA life co-creation car-machine system for the first time. At the beginning of this year, iCAR and Huaban.com launched the virtual human i-VA life co-creation. As the first time in the automotive industry to work with AI to create a virtual image, the virtual human i-VA serves as the iCAR brand spokesperson and content output carrier.
iCAR GT concept car
The overall design of the iCAR GT concept car is streamlined and dynamic, with sharp lines. There is no complicated design in the closed front face. The T-shaped LED headlight set is very eye-catching and has its own unique recognition. In addition, as a two-door sports car, the exaggerated front lip splitter is also indispensable, which can optimize the airflow of the entire vehicle. However, I think the X is more effective.
The side of the car body is also simple and smooth. The prominent front and rear wheel eyebrows give the new car a certain sense of strength. In addition, the new car also has a suspended roof design and the wolf-shaped B-pillar is very distinctive. The design language and taillight design of the rear of the new car are consistent with the front face and headlights.
In terms of interior, we can see that iCAR GT will adopt a wraparound interior style. The overall design is quite simple, and all car control functions will be integrated into the large central control screen. In addition, the new car will also be equipped with a special-shaped steering wheel, and an LCD instrument may be integrated in the middle of the steering wheel.
