At the 2022 Chengdu Auto Show, NIO ET5 was officially unveiled. What is shown this time is the Mirror Sky Pink color scheme, which is also the first time it has been seen by the public. It will open large lock-in orders on September 9. The first batch of models will be delivered on September 30.
Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of NIO, said that within a year, the sales volume of ET5 will exceed that of the BMW 3 Series fuel version, and will replace this type of traditional "gas vehicle".
ET5 upgraded the integrated seat before mass production. ET5 also set a new 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.0 seconds. The 100km/h-0 braking distance is optimized to 33.8 meters. ET5 also comes standard with LCC lane centering and ALC automatic lane changing functions, and the newly added "Huayang No. 1" fragrance is available for users to choose.
In addition, ET5 also adds an optional tow hitch package, with a maximum towing weight of 1.4 tons. However, due to certification reasons, the version with a "tow hook" will only be delivered in December, and it requires front installation and does not support rear installation.
In terms of price, according to the BaaS battery rental plan, the NIO ET5 is priced at 258,000 yuan before subsidies, of which the monthly fee for the 75kWh battery is 980 yuan, and the monthly fee for the 100kWh battery is 1,480 yuan. The 75kWh battery model of the vehicle is priced at 328,000 yuan before subsidies, and the 100kWh battery model is priced at 386,000 yuan before subsidies. This price will not change in the short term.
The NIO ET5 is positioned as a mid-sized pure electric coupe, and this is also the fifth model of the NIO brand and the second sedan of the NIO brand. The length, width and height are 4790x1960x1499 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2888 mm.
ET5 has smooth side lines and is equipped with a lidar on the top of the vehicle. The tail adopts a fastback shape and adopts a hatchback design; the taillights are the most modern The popular through-type design, combined with the simple rear shape, is more fashionable.
ET5 interior design continues the "second living room" concept. Clean+ environmentally friendly fabric materials are used, and the invisible air-conditioning outlets and speakers keep the instrument panel clean and refined. Cheaoling comes standard with smart frameless electric doors and hidden door handles, as well as a digital key based on UWB technology, making entry and exit more convenient.
In terms of autonomous driving, ET5 is equipped with NIO autonomous driving technology NAD (NIO Autonomous Driving). Through NIO’s super-sensing system Aquila and supercomputing platform Adam, ET5 will gradually realize high-speed, urban, parking, battery swap and other scenarios, providing a safe and relaxing end-to-end autonomous driving experience. The complete functions of NAD adopt the service subscription model of "activate monthly and pay monthly", that is, ADaaS (AD as a Service). The service fee is 680 yuan per month, and the service will be gradually provided.
For the power part, ET5 adopts a dual-motor four-wheel drive form. The front axle is equipped with a 150kW induction motor and the rear axle uses a 210kW permanent magnet motor. The comprehensive system power is 360kW and the peak torque is 700N·m. The vehicle’s front and rear weight ratio reaches 50 :50, and uses five-link front and rear independent suspension, matching 8 driving modes.
In terms of battery life, the ET5 model CLTC equipped with a standard battery pack (75kWh) has a battery life of 560 kilometers, and the long-life battery pack (100kWh) has a battery life of 710 kilometers.
