2,134 imported Lincoln Aviator recalled due to short circuit fire risk

Recently, Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Defective Automotive Product Recall Management Regulations" and the "Implementation Measures of the Defective Automotive Product Recall Management Regulations". It was decided to recall 2,134 imported 2020 Lincoln Aviator cars produced from June 28, 2019 to October 16, 2019, starting from December 10, 2021.

For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the battery wiring harness may not be properly fixed. After long-term use of the vehicle, the air conditioning compressor pulley may wear the insulation layer of the battery wiring harness, resulting in a short circuit in the wiring harness and a potential risk of fire, posing a safety hazard.

Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. will entrust Lincoln China authorized dealers to install cable ties on the battery wiring harness for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to prevent the wiring harness from interfering with the air conditioning compressor pulley; the dealer also The battery wiring harness will be checked for damage caused by interference with the air conditioning pulley, and the wiring harness will be repaired or replaced free of charge as necessary to eliminate safety hazards.

Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. will notify relevant car owners of the recall by registered mail or other means.
