China and EU will continue consultations on electric vehicle countervailing case

According to Xinhua News Agency reported that Informed sources revealed that China, the United States and the European Union have recently conducted intensive communications on trade issues such as electric vehicles. After representatives of EU member states voted to adopt the final draft ruling on the EU electric vehicle countervailing case on October 4, the China-EU working team will continue to negotiate.

On the 4th local time, the European Union held a vote on whether to impose a five-year countervailing duty on Chinese electric vehicles. A statement released by the European Commission showed that the European Commission's proposal to impose tariffs on imported pure electric vehicles from China received the necessary support from EU member states during the vote.

In response to a reporter’s question on the EU’s vote to pass the final draft ruling on the anti-subsidy case for electric vehicles, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said that China’s position is consistent and clear. We resolutely oppose the EU’s unfair, non-compliant and unreasonable protectionist practices in this case, and resolutely oppose the EU’s imposition of countervailing duties on Chinese electric vehicles.

On October 8, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce stated that China is studying to increase the import of large-displacement fuel oil Car tariffs and other measures.
